Let the season begin!!
The Real Deal and Corn Meal
Now this is getting exciting! Two weeks into the season and we are starting to see the cream come to the top as expected and some of the same-old corned meal players out there just collecting a paycheck and filling in the gaps. Watching the games and stats from merely a fan perspective this season has given me the luxury of not stressing over every catch and run and once again just appreciate the sheer beauty and downright ugliness of football. While it’s easy to just sit and regurgitate the same things you can read anywhere else, I’ll give it my own “FlavaFlav”
The Good:
Drew Brees and the not so Aints anymore! My God these guys are getting it done. Grats to Bobby and Dan on snagging him. Chris Johnson. This guy is like Mighty Mouse on roids. Did I miss something or is Frank Gore definitely born-again hard? Dude was running like somebody stole the last meatball off the truck. Damn. As much as it pains me to say this but Jay Cutler was rock solid against the Steelers defense, (without Troy of course), and in the rain. Dude was throwing Star Wars laser beams to his receivers all day. Impressive!
The Bad:
Troy Polamaolu better get healthy fast the Steelers secondary is in trouble with his presence and leadership on the field. Tony Romo just plain embarrassed himself and his team with 3 interceptions on the debut of their new $1,000,000,000.00 stadium. Did I get the zeroes right? That is BILLION! Are you kidding me? I know right? The Green Bay Packers are starting to look like one of those two-faced teams again, you never know who’s gonna show on Sunday. This might have someone up late at nights on roster day. I’d be concerned.
The Ugly:
The Eagles are screwed without McNabb, all your studs are gonna suffer until he gets back. If you have anyone on your roster from the Chiefs or the raiders, panic now it’s not too soon. The Rams are destroying Stephen Jackson’s career again. Lastly the Browns. I honestly tried to watch the game hoping it would be good. Unfortunately the Steelers game was on at the same time and it was better by far so it went something like this;
Browns game. Boring
Steelers game. Hmm.
Browns game. Boring.
Steelers game. This is getting interesting.
Brown still losing, Steelers and bears tied up.
Will watch the “highlights” of browns game on Primetime, Bears vs. Steelers good game ,down to the wire. Derek Anderson anyone?
